FOOD PANTRY

Don't forget the Food Pantry.  We have folks coming in each week in need of something to eat.   Its suggested that you bring canned meats, potatoes, peanut butter, cereal, macaroni & cheese, spaghetti sauce and pasta, soups, dried beans, and cornbread mix.  Please remember these folks as you shop during the week.  Winter is a hard time for some of these people with utility bills and trying to buy a little Christmas for their families.  Its a good way to spread joy and happiness with little effort.

STEWARDSHIP

What is Stewardship?  Stewardship is about making choices, as individuals and in community.  It is more than giving money to the church.  Stewardship is about being faithful disciples, caring for and managing all that God has given us.  Stewardship is not just one part of Christian discipleship; it involves every aspect of life in all the stages of life.

Stewardship is the grateful response to God's grace and goodness.  It requires a consideration of how our choices affect us and others, of how we can be good caretakers of the created world, and how we can best serve God as disciples of Christ.

SANCTUARY FLOWERS

Flowers for the Sanctuary are needed for Sundays in all of the coming months.  Flowers can be placed in memory of someone, for a birthday, or to honor someone.  The orders can be made at a reasonable cost by calling the church office.  Please sign up on the calendar in the hallway for the date you choose.

MEDICAL BENEVOLENCE FOUNDATION

Again this year there is an alternative giving opportunity of providing a gift to the Medical Benevolence Foundation, a support foundation for the medical mission work of the Presbyterian Church.  A gift of $10.00 will vaccinate 34 babies in a foreign land for DTP, polio, TB, and measles, while a gift of $20.00 will run a rural health clinic for one day.  Your donation and designation will also be listed in the bulletin alongside those who wish to receive poinsettias.  Please make your check payable to Bream and note either MBF or poinsettias.

THE READING ROOM

Thanks to a generous gift from a Church member, some wonderful titles have been purchased for the library.  Pastor Lynn will be working hard to catalog the new titles when they arrive.  Please take the time to puruse the new arrivals - some are Audio CD's, others are paperback and hardcover.  This will be an exciting winter of reading!
